2009 Hialeah Showcase of Champions

This past weekend our Band of Gold Members participated in the 12th Annual Hialeah Showcase of Champions Marching Band Competition. Our kids did great! The following were their accomplishments.

4th Place overall out of 14 marching bands

Fall Extravaganza

On Tuesday, October 27th, starting at 6:30pm, the Band of Gold will be putting on a concert and dinner for any and all patrons of the band. Featured at this concert will be the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Golden Guard & Marching Band.

Since this will be a major fundraiser for the band there will be a presale of tickets for the event. Tickets will cost $10. Children, 2 and under, who will not be eating a plate of food, can come free of charge. Buy your tickets from students of the Band of Gold Program!

2009 Falcon Sound Invitational

This past weekend the Miami Coral Park SHS Band of Gold’s Marching Band & Golden Guard participated in the 5th Annual Falcon Sound Invitational at Flanagan High School in Pembroke Pines, FL. The students did a fantastic job and earned a great deal of accolades. They include:

The band was asked to stay the night and perform their show again in exhibition for the larger bands in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Needless to say this was a huge honor and the students did an awesome job of representing Miami-Dade County Public Schools and especially Miami Coral Park SHS.
